The Quartz 2×8C-3 is a narrow-film amateur movie camera designed for 2×8 Super film, produced by the Krasnogorsk Mechanical Plant from 1971 to 1983. An export version known as the "Quartz-DS8-3" was also manufactured.

The Quartz 2×8C-3 camera was developed based on the Quartz-5 model (2×8 film), with a total production of 211,374 units.

Prior to this, the Krasnogorsk Mechanical Plant had produced the Quartz 2×8C-1 and Quartz 2×8C-1M cameras for 2×8 Super film between 1967 and 1977, totaling 123,402 units, which were based on the earlier Quartz models.

The Quartz 2×8C-3 utilized standard 7.5-meter reels (also compatible with 2×8 film). After filming on one side of the reel, the reels were swapped to shoot on the other side, exposing only a few outer turns. The design of the reels prevented re-exposure. Following laboratory processing, the film, which had a total width of 16 mm (2×8 mm), was cut longitudinally to edit the final movie. The film counter was reset by the user when changing reels. The film transport mechanism was spring-driven, with filming speeds of 12, 18, 24, and 36 frames per second, and frame-by-frame shooting was facilitated by a detachable release cable.
