The Zenit ET is a 35mm single-lens reflex (SLR) camera produced by Vileiskiy Zavod Zenit, located near Minsk in the former USSR. It was manufactured from 1982 to 1993, with a total production of approximately 3,000,000 units. The name "Зенит" is the Cyrillic representation of Zenit. As part of the enduring Zenit SLR camera series, the Zenit ET follows a lineage that began with a limited number of early models produced by KMZ in 1981-1982. There are versions of the Zenit ET that do not feature aperture automation or a built-in light meter. The camera was available in various finishes and colors, including silver, black, bronze, and green. It represents an effort to modernize the earlier Zenit EM model, initially resembling the EM but with updated lettering and redesigned dials. Some models may also lack strap lugs.
