The Zenit E is a Soviet-manufactured 35mm single-lens reflex (SLR) camera. The initial production utilized specialized M39 lenses, similar to earlier Zenit models, while subsequent production runs adopted the more widely used M42 screw lenses, which were produced from 1965 to 1968. The Zenit E stands out as a compact and uniquely designed SLR, especially when compared to other cameras of its era. Its boxy appearance is softened by less pronounced vertical edges. The camera is wrapped in a textured nylon material, commonly found in Soviet camera production, rather than the typical leatherette.
