The Mir is a 35mm film rangefinder camera produced by Krasnogorsky Mekhanichesky Zavod (KMZ) in Moscow, which was part of the former USSR. The name "Mir," meaning "Peace," reflects its ethos. This model was manufactured between 1959 and 1961.
The Mir is a more straightforward version of the well-known Soviet Leica-inspired Zorki 4, omitting the slow shutter speed mechanism and the highest speed of 1/1000 second. Unlike the Zorki 4, which was designed for export, the Mir was exclusively intended for domestic use.
